Dee Barnes' hand built ceramics are made using coiling and slabbing techniques. She works with earthenware clay and white slip. The slip gives her a plain background on which to paint, a canvas of sorts. Colour lies at the heart of Dee's work and the shapes she creates are inspired by historical and antique ceramics which she has collected over many years.
