Helga Stentzel

Helga finds magic in the mundane and sees beauty in imperfections. Her images turn everyday objects upside down.

A sock falling on the floor next to some pegs was the initial inspiration for Helga’s washing line series “it looked like a horse’s head.” The sock eventually became a pair of trousers and the series was born.

Baa Baa, commissioned by us for the launch of the Unpolished shop in sheep country Stow-on-the-Wold, turns rain coats and knickers into a Cotswold sheep field.
